Where to Stay in Kamanjab for Western Etosha
Kamanjab is the town the western entrance is organised around. Trips coming through Damaraland enter Etosha at Galton Gate from here, and it carries more accommodation than the western side of the park itself.

Should you stay in Kamanjab?
Kamanjab is the practical base for the western entrance, and there is more choice here than at Dolomite inside the park. If your route is running Damaraland to Etosha, a night here sets up a morning entry at Galton Gate without a long first leg.
It is the wrong stop for a trip built around the southern waterholes. Galton Gate is a long way from Okaukuejo, and the western sector has historically carried more access restrictions than the rest of the park, so confirm current conditions before you commit the route.

Onward to Etosha
From Kamanjab the road runs north-east to Galton Gate, the least-used of Etosha’s entrances. Dolomite Camp is the inside-the-park base beyond it, and Olifantsrus is a campsite-only camp further into the western sector.
Confirm current park and gate information, permitted roads and fuel availability before you set off. The distances between camps in the west are longer than in the south, and there are fewer places to correct a mistake.
