Tent Zahir is one of several individually bookable luxury safari tents at Zuri Camp, a small, privately run tented camp set in the bush outside Tsumeb in north-eastern Namibia. This page covers Tent Zahir only, a single self-contained tent unit with its own Agoda listing and its own booking link. It is not a page for the wider Zuri Camp property, and booking Tent Zahir does not reserve any of the camp’s other tents.
The Tent and Its Facilities
The tent is built with a thatched roof over a canvas-and-stone structure, with twin or double beds, a private en-suite bathroom, desk area, and a private lounge area with an outdoor sofa. Photographs supplied through Agoda show a private plunge pool with deck seating, and a separate stone-built fire pit with bench seating near the tent. Guests have a private entrance, free parking, and toiletries and towels provided. Agoda records Tent Zahir as a 3.5-star tented property with an Exceptional 9.4 out of 10 guest rating from 104 reviews, by some distance the most-reviewed of the individual Zuri Camp tent listings.
Location Near Tsumeb
Tent Zahir is located a short drive from Tsumeb, with Agoda placing the tent roughly 8 to 9 km from the Tsumeb Museum and Art and Craft Centre, slightly further out than the camp’s other tents, and around 94 km from Mokuti Lodge Airport near Etosha’s eastern side. We list Tent Zahir under our existing Tsumeb Area grouping, which covers accommodation using Tsumeb as its nearest service town on the route to Etosha’s Von Lindequist Gate; the tent itself is in the surrounding bush rather than inside Tsumeb town, roughly an hour’s drive from Namutoni. Tsumeb itself grew up around one of Namibia’s richest mineral deposits and still has a small mining and cultural history worth a stop.
Other Tents at Zuri Camp
Zuri Camp operates several similarly named tents, including Tent Kiama (also published on this site), Tent Amani and Tent Madini, each with its own separate Agoda listing and hotel ID. This page and its booking link apply to Tent Zahir specifically; if you would like a different tent at the same camp, please check the camp’s other individual listings rather than assuming a shared booking. Because each tent at Zuri Camp is listed and booked separately, it is worth double-checking the specific tent name on any booking confirmation to make sure Tent Zahir, rather than one of its sister tents, is the unit being reserved.
Best Suited For
Tent Zahir suits travellers who want a private, self-contained tented stay with its own plunge pool and fire pit near Tsumeb, rather than a large lodge with shared facilities. Its strong review count makes it a reassuring choice for guests who like to see a substantial guest feedback history before booking a smaller, independently-run property. It works well as an overnight stop for guests approaching Etosha from the east via the Von Lindequist Gate, or as a quiet base for a night or two while exploring the Tsumeb area.
Getting There
Most guests reach Tent Zahir by self-drive, following tarred roads to Tsumeb and then a short stretch into the surrounding bush to reach Zuri Camp. Tsumeb itself has fuel stations, supermarkets and basic vehicle services, making it a convenient last stop before continuing on to Etosha’s eastern Von Lindequist Gate or further afield to the Mokuti Lodge Airport area. Guests arriving by air can arrange onward transfers to the tent, though most visitors combine a stay at Tent Zahir with a wider self-drive itinerary through northern Namibia.
